Housed on the fifth floor and staffed by a full-time librarian, the library is a comfortable room with high windows, cherrywood bookcases for its 10,000 books, scores of periodicals, lounge chairs, writing desks and display cases. It is a tranquil atmosphere where members can focus on their reading, think, and work in quiet.

- Book Circulation
- The loan period is two weeks, with renewals. The Library has the newest
and most widely-reviewed books for borrowing, as well as a variety of older
titles in such areas as Fiction, Mystery novels, Anthologies, Biographies, History and New York City History, Sports, Travel, Art and Poetry.
- Book Drops
- Just outside the Library door, and in the lobby opposite the reception desk, borrowers are able to return books when the Library is closed.
- Reference
- A small but useful Reference section contains: Who's Who in America, Oxford English Dictionary, Encyclopedia of World Art, The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, atlases, dictionaries of quotations, and Princeton and Columbia Alumni Directories.
- Periodicals
- The Library subscribes to approximately 70 magazines, domestic and
foreign, general and specialized. Only back issues may be borrowed, but reserved issues are available. There are complete sets of the Princeton Alumni Weekly.
- Collections
- Freshman Heralds, Nassau Heralds, Bric-a-Bracs, and Reunion books along with books relating to Princeton's history available for reference.
A collection of books by and about Woodrow Wilson is featured plus works by noted authors: F. Scott Fitzgerald, John McPhee, and Edmund Wilson.
A collection of books about New York City and its history is located next to the non-fiction book section.
- Paperbacks
- Assorted paperbacks, donated by members are on the windowsill behind the librarian's desk.
- Lectures and Exhibits
- The Library sponsors a series of informal lecture evenings with Princeton faculty members, alumni and distinguished authors.
The illuminated display cases in the Library and hallway contain exhibits relating to Library Lectures, travel destinations, noteworthy global celebrations, and other topics of current interest.
The Princeton Library in New York is a non-profit educational corporation chartered
by the New York Board of Regents. The Library has among its purposes the maintenance of a library in Manhattan for the use of members of The Princeton Club, of alumni and faculty, visiting scholars, associated members of historical, literary and learned organizations, and other interested persons, upon application. It co-operates closely with and supports The Princeton University Library.
The Princeton Library in New York, like all institutional libraries, relies on the enthusiasm, cooperation, and financial support of those who use it. Contributions are tax-deductible.
